Love Affair (Valentine's Day) Fashion
When any holiday rolls around, it seems that the main focus rotates around the gifts exchanged, the foods consumed, and the decorations hung. As a teenager who needs the occasional advice on how to dress for such events, it can be difficult to find such articles that provide ideas that I am able to individualize and make my own.
Now that Christmas and New Years have passed, that means Valentine's day is literally just around the corner. As of now, the holiday of love is preparing to bombard us tomorrow, and for me this gives any fashionista a reason to dress with a theme. After digging around google looking for articles, I stumbled across one on Teen Vogue (which you can read here.) Each slide presented a dress that embodied the essence of a classic piece in which any person could have their personal sense of fashion shine through.
Taking one dress, I want to show you how it can transform into a outfit that creates an atmosphere that ranges from boho chic to rocker chick.
The dress:

Boho Chic
When I think of the term "boho," my mind switches over to a free spirit with accesories that show how one can hold such an open mindset. My choices?
Add a cross chain head piece

Add texture with fringe

And of course... Gold bangles

Rocker Chick
I always like to embrace a bit more of a rebellious look on some days. It gives me the freedom to feel like a rockstar, a fantasy I've had since falling in love with the movie The Runaways with Kristen Stewart.
The first thing I think of?
Leather!

(Remember there's nothing wrong with faux leather! Forever 21 carries faux leather jackets for great prices!)
Ear/hair cuff chain (I especially enjoy the spiked ones which can be found on etsy)

And lastly, you can never go wrong with a pair of heels. (I'm partial to lace)

Finding such a simple item like the Urban Outfitters dress leaves open a world of opportunity to create an outfit that defines you and only you. I've created two popular themes for clothing, but the purpose of this article was to show how anything can represent who you are as a person. Style is a special way of showing the world how you work as an individual. Don't let this holiday be bland. Stay bold with reds and pinks and don't be afraid to embrace your style.
Happy Valentine's Day.
